This year the SDHSBA coaches voted to start a new award to recognize top senior bowlers for their outstanding leadership they have shown to their team and their opponents over the past four years. The criteria for the SDHSBA Leadership Award included character traits such as positive leadership, fair play, and conduct on the lanes. We believe sportsmanship is an understanding of and commitment to fair play, ethical behavior, integrity and general good will towards an opponent. It is an affirmation that an athlete is disciplined enough to have perspective, maintain poise and do what is best for his or her teammates and other teams’ players. The nominee must be a senior, have completed ¾ of the season and be player eligible at the end of the season.
Nominees were sent in by all the coaches and the top five vote receivers and ties then had bios submitted and a second vote for each teams top three nominees was taken. This years nominees included Teagen Bremmon, Jayden Brucklacker, Kennedy Reindl, Kacee Rhody and Alyssa Sweir for the ladies. For the men it included Gunner Christianson, Connor Ibis, Haden Ihnen, Parker Kisch, Treven Luke and Michael Oakland. Congratulations to this year’s recipients Kennedy Reindl and Michael Oakland!
